Novoteph capsules are used in the treatment of conditions related to the esophagus and stomach, such as erosive reflux oesophagitis (inflammation due to the reflux of stomach contents back into the esophagus), prevention relapse of oesophagitis, and symptomatic treatment of GERD (gastro-esophageal reflux disease).

It helps relieve symptoms including difficulty swallowing, heartburn, and persistent cough. The Novoteph medication helps in healing the damage to the stomach and esophagus, prevents the probability of ulcers, and may decrease the probability of cancer of the esophagus. It belongs to the class of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).
